Vivid Stories with Pulse, Purpose, and a Spark of the Unexpected.

Henning Thiel —
Mythic eco‑thrillers and heartfelt nonfiction rooted in the Pacific Northwest.

Welcome. I’m a Pacific Northwest writer exploring the places where imagination and real life meet. My work ranges from myth‑infused ecological fiction to grounded, deeply personal nonfiction about Alzheimer’s and caregiving.

My books don’t fit a single genre, and honestly, that’s intentional. The Gaia Testament Trilogy mixes mythic fiction, ecological suspense, slow‑burn tension, found family, and a touch of magic — all grounded in the forests, rivers, and coastlines of the Pacific Northwest. These are character‑driven stories about people trying to hold onto each other while the world wakes up and starts rewriting the rules.I also write nonfiction that explores memory, loss, caregiving, and the emotional threads that tie us to the people we love. Whether I’m writing about a planet in upheaval or a family navigating change, my focus is always the same: human connection, place, and the quiet moments that shape us.If you like stories that feel atmospheric, heartfelt, a little weird, and deeply rooted in place, you’ll feel at home here.

About Henning Thiel
Henning Thiel writes at the crossroads of imagination and lived experience.

After more than seventeen years crafting government reports grounded in clarity and fact, an unexpected layoff nudged him back toward a forgotten story draft — and into a new creative life.

Today he splits his time between myth‑infused ecological fiction and deeply personal nonfiction about Alzheimer’s and caregiving. What started as a creative escape from bureaucracy grew into a way to explore real places, real emotions, and the unpredictable turns of life through story.

Whether he’s building the world of The Gaia Testament Trilogy or writing about his mother’s journey through dementia, Henning brings empathy, curiosity, and a touch of wry humor to everything he creates.

His work invites readers into spaces where imagination meets truth — and where even in uncertainty, there’s always a spark of hope.

A deeply personal memoir tracing the subtle, easily missed beginnings of Alzheimer’s and the emotional upheaval that follows. It’s a story of confusion, love, exhaustion, and the quiet courage required to care for someone as their world shifts. A heartfelt account of a son trying to understand the early signs of his mother’s Alzheimer’s. This memoir captures the fear, humor, and humanity found in the slow unraveling of memory.
